Boston

Boston is a stallion from our own breeding and from one of our most successful damlines. He is a son of the preferent stallion Baltic VDL, who has left his mark on international show jumping with offspring such as Leone Jei, Ilex, and Faltic HB. With Zirocco Blue VDL and Cardento on the dam's side, two more absolute foundation stallions are added to Boston's pedigree. Zirocco Blue is represented at the highest level by Elysium, Zilton SL Z, Zuccero, and Glamour Girl, among others; of the Cardento offspring, Katanga van het Dingeshof, Grand Slam VDL, and Farrel, stand out.

Boston VDL’s dam Jeune Dame VDL was bred from the successful broodmare B Dame VDL. She produced, among others, Icoon VDL, now known as Rock of Cashel; under rider Hessel Hoekstra, Icoon VDL won the Grand Prix of Eindhoven, finished third in the Grand Prix of Falsterbo and was the reserve for the World Championships in Herning. Nowadays, Rock of Cashel can be seen under Cian O’Connor and Tom Wachman. Boston VDL’s great-grandmother Notre Dame also produced several licensed stallions and international show jumpers, such as Bordeaux VDL, Taloubet VDL, and Kingsland VDL. Furthermore, this famous Holsteiner stam 242 produced, among others, foundation stallions Ahorn and Joost.

At the Zangersheide stallion grading, Boston VDL convincingly earned his breeding license. He stands out for his enormous scope, good balance, and excellent rideability. With his excellent damline, strongly constructed pedigree, and individual qualities, Boston VDL can add scope, jumping technique, and rideability.

Boston was the only KWPN stallion to jump all rounds of the BLOM stallion competition 1.10m class clear and was convincingly Champion of the stallion competition with a day victory in the final in Den Bosch.
